Planning permission is not normally required. Permitted development rules usually allow an outbuilding up to 50% of the available garden area with a roof height limit of 2.5 meters if the building is located within 2m of a boundary.  If the building is located further than 2m of a boundary than the roof height of 4m will be allowed. However, there are exceptions to this policy, for instance if you live in a conservation area. If you require clarification on this please call and we will do our best to help.
